From your first IEP meeting to six months of follow-up support, here's everything NAME offers families, students, and partner organizations.
Direct family advocacy is provided completely free of charge to students enrolled in Baltimore City Public Schools. Enrollment must be verified with a report card or another official school data point at intake.
We attend IEP and 504 meetings alongside you as your advocate, prepare you beforehand, and check in monthly with your family for six months afterward. When things escalate, we also support mediation and due process.
Help understanding evaluations, services, and accommodations, so caregivers can participate meaningfully and confidently in meetings that shape their child's education.
We attend the meeting itself alongside you, translating what's said in real time and making sure your priorities are heard.
A close read of your child's current plan to flag gaps, unclear language, or services that aren't being delivered as written.
Individualized academic and tutoring support aligned to each student's learning needs and IEP or 504 goals.
Documentation, evidence preparation, and compliance review support for families navigating formal disputes.
Every family we work with receives monthly check-ins for six months, so new questions never go unanswered.
A space for parents and caregivers to connect with others who understand what navigating special education actually feels like.
Information sessions on special education rights, inclusion, and advocacy, built for accessibility and cultural responsiveness.
Referrals to partner programs supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of students with disabilities.
Warm handoffs to trusted partners for speech-language therapy, mental health, and counseling support.
Accessible guides and tools that demystify special education and help families carry knowledge forward.
Access in Action is NAME's signature professional learning experience, built specifically for out-of-school-time (OST) organizations serving children and families in Baltimore and across the DMV. Grounded in IDEA, ADA, and Section 504, it translates law, policy, and research into plain language and practical action, moving your staff from intention to infrastructure.
Direct coaching, scenario-based discussion, and problem-solving rooted in your organization's actual context, especially useful for teams navigating staff turnover, program expansion, or growing family needs around disability and access.
Flexible, research-informed, and written in plain language, well-suited for onboarding new staff or training part-time teams across multiple sites. Includes templates and planning tools you keep.
We partner with OST organizations, schools, and clinics for mutual referrals and joint programming. If your organization serves families with disabilities, let's talk.
